Abstraction & Robo Art with Dash

Service Description

If you don’t know Dash by now, we would be delighted to introduce you! Dash is a beloved robot that can be controlled using a programming language invented by Google called Blockly. Paired with an iPad, students will learn how to code by dragging and dropping their commands for Dash to execute. Learn the basics of coding with immediate feedback in a hands-on and collaborative learning environment. During this course, students will take Dash on great adventures into space, zipping through obstacle courses, choreograph a dance and create Dash-ing works of abstract art. After this course, students will understand basic commands, sequencing, loops and functions. Topics covered during the course include the following: Math - location - distance - direction - orientation Science - measurement - movement - navigation Art & Music - geometric & abstract art (Rothko, Kadinsky, Mondrian, and more!) - choreograph a dance Computer Science - commands - sequencing - loops - events - functions - abstraction - pattern recognition
